Spring is here and so is the meadowlark.
On our walk, we sighted a pair of meadowlarks sitting on the fence which surrounds the Firefighters’ Training Center. Before I could turn on my camera, one flew away. But the other sat there, posed for photos and happily serenaded us with song.
We sighted the red shouldered hawk on its favorite hunting perch. It dove into the brush, then after a few minutes back to its perch. After the rain, I hope the hunting is good.
We didn’t see the hawk’s mate, but perhaps it was on the nest. (She said, hopefully.)
