This story develops from the following first sentence:
“Diamond Jack had his hideout next to the Rattle Snake River.”
It burned to the ground in ‘aught six. Today, we received the following:
Dear —–
Our beautiful forest setting sports a new gem, dubbed Diamond in the Rough.
You and your family are cordially invited to join us on June 6th for a commemorative Diamond Jubilee.
Our children Chip and Princess, and our dog Blue, will entertain your children and help them feed carrots to the deer and bunnies. There will be chocolates, too.
A flawless map is enclosed. Do not lose it as there are many facets to its instructions.
Sincerely,
Diamond Jack and Diamond Lil

I thought of my stepfather when I wrote this. He was a primo punster and would have had fun helping me.

Thank you for the kind words. It was fun to do. Some of the out takes were pure corn.

Glad you liked them. I used the veggie spelling to keep from bludgeoning my poor readers with them all.
